Our Developmental and Behavioral Services

Ready for next steps?

At OKC Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics, we care for children and adolescents with a wide range of developmental, behavioral, learning, and emotional concerns.

Some families come to us with a specific concern or diagnosis in mind. Others simply know that something doesn’t seem quite right. They may notice differences in their child’s development, behavior, learning, communication, or emotional well-being but aren’t sure what is causing them. We take the time to understand the whole child, identify areas of strength and concern, and provide diagnostic clarity and a plan for next steps.

Comprehensive Developmental & Behavioral Care

Our evaluations are individualized based on your child's age, history, strengths, and areas of concern. Rather than focusing on a single test or diagnosis, we consider development, behavior, learning, communication, social-emotional functioning, medical history, family history, and the child's functioning at home and school.

When appropriate, evaluation may include developmental or behavioral assessment tools, review of school and therapy records, parent and teacher questionnaires, direct observation, and autism-specific assessment.

The goal is not simply to make a diagnosis. It is to help families understand why their child may be struggling and what to do next.

Treatment & Ongoing Care

For children who need continued care, OKC DBP can provide ongoing developmental and behavioral management, including:

  • Medication management for ADHD and other appropriate behavioral or emotional conditions

  • Monitoring of development, behavior, and school functioning

  • Behavioral and parenting recommendations

  • Sleep management

  • Guidance regarding therapies and community resources

  • Recommendations for school supports, including IEP and 504 accommodations

  • Coordination with therapists, schools, primary care physicians, psychologists, and other specialists When additional specialized testing or treatment is needed, we help families identify the appropriate next step and coordinate referrals.
